Highlights include the feature film Judy starring Renee Zellweger as Judy Garland (winning Ms. Zellweger the Golden Globe, BAFTA award and Oscar for Best Actress) based on the stage play End Of The Rainbow which he produced in the West End, on Broadway and in Los Angeles.

Lee was responsible for Oscar recipient and six-time Tony Award-winner Angela Lansbury’s return to the West End after forty years to play Madame Arcati in Noël Coward’s Blithe Spirit, winning her an Olivier Award. The production subsequently played in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Toronto & Washington DC.

Lee produced the UK tour and transfer to Sydney, Australia of the Almeida Theatre Production of Mike Bartlett’s King Charles III and co-produced the production in the West End at Wyndham’s Theatre (BEST PLAY Olivier Awards and South Bank Sky Arts Award) and on Broadway at the Music Box Theatre. (BEST PLAY Tony Award nomination). Other productions with the Almeida include Peter Morgan’s Patriots with Tom Hollander at the Noel Coward Theatre; James Graham’s Ink at the Duke Of York’s Theatre; Hamlet with Andrew Scott directed by Robert Icke at the Pinter Theatre; Edward Albee’s The Goat, or Who is Sylvia? with Jonathan Pryce and Eddie Redmayne at the Apollo Theatre and Tom Kempinski’s Duet for One with Juliet Stevenson and Henry Goodman at the Vaudeville Theatre.

In partnership with Sir Michael Codron, Lee presented six National Theatre Productions: Michael Frayn’s Copenhagen produced worldwide winning ten major awards and running for more than two years at the Duchess Theatre in London (BEST PLAY - Evening Standard Awards), also in New York on Broadway at the Royale Theatre (winning three Tony Awards including BEST PLAY). It was subsequently produced as a film; Joe Penhall’s blue/orange with Bill Nighy and Chiwetel Ejiofor (BEST PLAY Evening Standard Awards - BEST PLAY Critics Circle Awards - BEST PLAY Olivier Awards) also at the Duchess Theatre; Tom Stoppard’s The Invention of Love with John Wood at the Theatre Royal, Haymarket (BEST PLAY - Evening Standard Awards); the UK tour of Stoppard's Arcadia (BEST PLAY - Olivier and Evening Standard Awards); Moira Buffini’s Dinner with Harriet Walter at Wyndhams Theatre; Michael Frayn’s Democracy also at Wyndhams (BEST PLAY – Evening Standard and Critics Circle Awards).

Edward Albee’s Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? at the Apollo Theatre (with Kathleen Turner winning The Evening Standard Award for BEST ACTRESS); Mark Hayhurst’s Taken at Midnight (with Penelope Wilton winning the Olivier Award for BEST ACTRESS); Alan Ayckbourne’s Comic Potential at the Lyric Theatre, (with Janie Dee winning The Critics Circle, The Evening Standard and Olivier Awards for BEST ACTRESS); Alistair Beaton’s Feelgood, with Henry Goodman and Nigel Planer at the Garrick Theatre (BEST COMEDY - Evening Standard Awards); Shelagh Stephenson’s The Memory of Water with Alison Steadman at the Vaudeville Theatre (BEST NEW COMEDY - Olivier Awards); Gypsy with Imelda Staunton at the Savoy Theatre (BEST MUSICAL REVIVAL - Olivier Awards); Crazy For You at the Gillian Lynne Theatre..

Lee created his company London Productions in 1992 and London Productions International in 1995. He was a trustee of Watford Palace Theatre from 1997 to 2008 and has been a trustee of Cambridge Arts Theatre since 2016. He is a trustee and life member of the Actor's Children’s Trust (ACT). He is a member of the Society of London Theatre and UK Theatre.
